Google’s Hangouts Meet just received a big update: G Suite Enterprise users can now live stream to up to 100,000 users within their organization. Numerous organizations use Hangouts Meet to collaborate with both internal and external groups. G Suite Business and G Suite Enterprise are limited to 25 and 50 participants in Google Hangouts Meet, respectively.
Larger entities might want more participants for all hands meetings. Building off YouTube technology, Google Meet now provides view-only access to broader audiences with reliable, low-barrier, high quality video and sound to support the needs of G Suite Enterprise users.
How it works: G Suite Enterprise organizers can enable live streaming on their meetings in Calendar and invite the audience.
How to use: With the option to stream up to 100,000 in-domain users, live streaming gives attendees the ability to watch meetings from a browser or their mobile device. The instructions to turn on live streaming are easy. Simply add Hangouts Meet conferencing to an event, select Manage Details and Add Live Stream. A stream URL address is then copied to events details to be shared with any and all users in a single domain.
Benefits: With Live Streaming, you no longer have to worry about size of your company meetings. Pairing this with the ability to record your Hangouts Meet and sharing it out via Google Drive gives you the ability to reach larger target audiences and keep your meetings available indefinitely.
